Run-D.M.C. is an American hip hop group formed in Hollis, Queens, New York, in 1981. The group consists of Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, and Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell (until his tragic death in 2002).
Run-D.M.C. achieved widespread success with their groundbreaking fusion of rap and rock music, characterised by their stripped-down beats, hard-hitting rhymes, and signature style.
